About Amber

Amber Ayako Du Bois is a dance instructor and performer based out of the North Shore of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi.  With family ties to Japan, Hawaiʻi, and the Bay Area of California, her dance background is rather eclectic.  At the age of three, Amber became a student of modern dance with Luna Dance Company in Oakland, California; while there she earned a one year Dance Scholarship.  As a member of the Performing Arts Academy at Skyline High School, Amber majored in Dance Production and Music.  Throughout high school and college she practiced Ballet, Modern and Jazz Dance.  After college she studied American Smooth and Latin Ballroom at the Kessler School of Dance in Honolulu.  In 2011 Amber joined hula hālau Nā Wahine O Ka Hula Mai Ka Puʻuwai under the direction of Kumu Hula Valerie Candy Pollack and in 2014 Amber began assistant teaching alongside Mrs. Pollack, where she continues to co-teach as well as leading her own hula classes.
